Long Distance Running

Running
Running is a great way of exploding your fitness levels by focusing on your stamina & endurance. A great way of getting outside & seeing the world, running provides a dynamic means of getting & staying above normal fitness levels. If the weather is not to your taste, head to the gym & pace along in front of the TV! Shed the excess, prime the muscles & strengthen your heart by running anything from once to five times a week. A great way to release tension, running can be enjoyed on your own, in small groups or in more competitive circumstances on the track or cross country.
Ladies Running
The specific benefits of running lie in the ability to burn off about an extra quarter of your daily calorie intake. That means it is an efficient way of losing excess weight & getting you to a more natural & healthy physique. Once reached with regular runs you will be able to maintain that level, building your heart & lungs which can plough more oxygen into your body meaning stronger muscles & increased stamina. If all that sounds like too much hard work, do not forget the beauty of running lies in its release of beta-endorphins which will give you a superb natural high & alleviate any pain that is caused in the process. This effect is what many people become addicted to when they start running. The satisfaction of a good run is hard to beat, building your fitness & releasing the daily tension.
Adequate Clothing & Precautions
One must always take precautions when running as the ill prepared could land themselves in a spot of trouble. Warming up is crucial as strenuous activity can lead to over exertion & injury. Loosen out any niggles & tension by a quick warm up, stretch & shake out. Wear cushioned trainers to take the strain of concrete away from your knees & shins. Take on board plenty of water to keep hydrated & wear breathable clothes so you do not overheat. Wear bright coloured clothing too, preferably with reflective strips, to enable you to be noticed by cars. Another thing to remember is that listening to your iPod when running is often a source of support & enjoyment but it can be dangerous when you cannot hear cars & others around you. Also, when on your own, do not forget your phone so if you get into trouble you can contact someone quickly. Beyond those pointers, running is a therapeutic & satisfying way of getting fit that becomes deeply rewarding with commitment.
