Gym
The advantages of the gym lie in a number of areas. The ability to head down & work out in an air conditioned environment is practical & more appealing than braving the arctic winds, driving rain or dangerous dark. Once there you can watch TV whilst pounding the stepper! The ability to workout in a room full of people doing the same is also great for the willpower & makes you feel better! Throw in a cheeky sauna, swim & steam room after & the pleasures outweigh the pain!
Flexible Gym Workout
You have a choice of workouts that can focus on any body area that you feel needs particular attention from your leg muscles, upper body or just general cardio-vascular, stamina based fitness. Or you might prefer to tackle some weights to build muscle & improve your strength. The ability of the gym to cater for anything & give you the chance to hone in on a specific area is what makes it such a popular choice.
Preparing for the Gym
It is always beneficial to take a few precautions when entering a gymnasium. Always attend an induction course (probably mandatory) at a new gym so you know you are comfortable using the equipment. Always make sure you are properly hydrated, dressed & alert for the gym - not doing so could result in an accident. Also, do not push yourself too hard as exhaustion can cloud your judgement & lead to injury. Beyond those considerations, heading to the gym is a great way of releasing tension, releasing endorphins & helping your body become as efficient as you want it to be.
