Golf

If you are looking for more than just a sport, Golf is certainly a good choice. To many the culture of golf is as appealing as the sport itself. The style, the pace, the science & the clubhouse are obvious attractions! But let us not forget the physical benefits: long walks, vigorous swinging & heavy bags provide a great all round workout & it certainly gets the brain thinking too. Whether you head to the driving range for some intensive swing work or complete a full 18 holes at The Belfry, women's golf has never been so hot with the likes of Michelle Wie rewriting the form guide.

Golf Fitness

Regular jaunts to the golf course will keep you fit & healthy by working a large variety of muscles gently whilst stimulating more specific muscles more vigorously, such as the arms & back during a swing. Such work will improve your fitness, flexibility & coordination. Over time, this will improve your muscles & also your quality of life, such as the ability to sleep & stay alert for longer.

Women's Golf Precautions

Beyond freak incidents like being hit by a ball or a swinging club, which are largely avoidable by stepping far back from the striking player, golf's more sedate pace leaves fewer risks to your body. Having said that, a few precautions should be taken into consideration before taking to the tee. Always ensure you are properly stretched & warmed up. By not doing so you could very easily pull a muscle or worse. Often your joints can have difficulties coping, much like tennis elbow. Also, as you will be out in (hopefully) the sun for long periods, wear high factor sun screen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays & carry lots of water. Other than that, golf is a fantastic social game to play amongst friends or in competition. Why spoil a long walk by not playing golf?!
